Nearly all religions and cultures believe there are heavenly or celestial beings that are messengers of God and act as intermediaries between God and humanity. Though known by many names, devas, devatas, or dharmapalas in Buddhism, maleks or faristas in Islam, malachem in Judaism and Angels in Christianity, they are all-powerful thought-forms of God’s unconditional love and light. They all carry the different aspects of God: unconditional love, patience, graciousness, mercy, compassion, infinite intelligence, joy, peace and abundant goodness, and they all continuously serve God in praise and gratitude.

Though taken from the King James Bible, Luke 15:10, “THERE IS JOY IN THE PRESENCE OF ANGELS”, is true no matter your culture or religion.

Angels do not show themselves or interfere in your life’s path until you are ready to work with them. They look past your human faults; they do not criticise or judge but, gently, quietly and lovingly stay by your side, to support you through every situation in your life to experience God’s love.

When I was little, four or five, I would cry and be afraid when my parents went out and I remember it was at those times that my maternal grandmother would wrap me in her arms and reassure me saying, “There is nothing to be afraid of because God has sent his angels to watch over you.” When she died when I was five and though I missed her physical presence, I never doubted that she would always ask the angels to watch over me. Not long after she died, I was in a hospital isolation ward with diphtheria where I often felt scared and lonely, but I remembered my grandma’s comforting words and called on the angels and within seconds, my fear would go away. Calm would come over me and I would know the angels were with me.

As I got older, I became very interested in fitting in with my idea of the world and I relegated my belief in angels to the far back dark corner of my mind. I have to admit that it wasn’t long before I felt disconnected from my own identity and was moving through the world like a zombie, just going through the motions doing the expected.

One day, I was walking through the garden after teaching a Reiki class and I railed at the air, “There must be something more that I can do to find the real me.” Within days, I started noticing number sequences, such as 444, 111, 422 and 737 on digital clocks and car license plates. I told a friend about this and though he did not know what they meant, he confidently announced, “They are angel messages.” Soon, angels were making their presence known almost everywhere; I would hear about them on the radio, books would fall off store shelves at my feet and they would even come up in conversations amongst my students.

I was more than a little sceptical about the help angels really could offer, but I began reading lots of books and even took a few courses. I began to feel the peace and comfort I had known as a child and decided to put into action what I was learning by asking for angel guidance. I started small; I would ask for help finding a parking space or deciding what to cook for dinner and was pleasantly surprised when help actually came, and my scepticism quickly faded.

In the ensuing years, there have been challenges and traumas and whenever I have been agitated, confused or upset, I have called on the angels and they have always brought me peace and clarity.

The angels have helped me build my trust in myself and especially in God and I want to share with you how working with the angels can make a powerful difference in your daily life.
